Indian Boiler Regulations, 1950 was being regularly amended by the Central Boilers Board, New Delhi to cater to the requirements of Boiler Manufacturers and Boiler Owners in India.
However, the initiative for consolidation of these Regulations including the incorporation of these amendments in their respective original places was taken up only a decade back. This exercise was meticulously carried out by a technical team of leading Indian Boiler Manufacturers including BHEL, Tiruchirappalli and Thermax, Pune, guided by the Government and private Inspecting Authorities and led by the then Secretary, Central Boilers Board, New Delhi.
The bilingual version of Indian Boiler Regulations, 2026 published in the Gazette of Government of India on October 1, 2026 is essentially the fruit of the remarkable work of this team.
